Why Use The TypeSafe™ Segment Sampling Device?
The TypeSafe™ Segment Sampling Device is designed for single,
in-vitro, diagnostic use, so technicians do not have to use scissors
for cross-matching precedures in the lab.

- Insert the narrow end of the TypeSafe™ segment sampling
device into the test tube
- Make sure the tube is properly aligned in the holder
- Always wear proper safety attire when working with blood.
Insert blood segment into TypeSafe™ and gently press
until the needle has pierced the segment
- Apply pressure to the segment, forcing blood into the test
tube
- Do not squeeze until needle has pierced segment
- Be sure to place the TypeSafe™ directly on top of
the test tube, so the narrow end is facing straight down,
reducing angles and gaps
- When desired sample has been dispersed into the test tube,
remove the blood segment and the TypeSafe™ device. Properly
dispose of both in designated hazardous medical waste receptacles
